Dorado Superior 2009

16.0 / 20
Producer: Quinta do Feital
Region: Minho
Country: Portugal

According to the producer, this is an Alvarinho made for aging, having staged in oak for one and a half years. Based on the structure of the wine, I would definitely keep a couple of bottles to open in some years.

Very fresh and intense in the nose, with lots of flowery notes, some citrus and some pineapple on the background.

Good structure in the palate, showing a complex, textured and filling wine. It has a buttery, heavier side which is very well balanced by a crisp, dry feel and a decent acidity. Medium long finish wraps the taste.

A very nice example of an oak staged Alvarinho, this will go along nicely with heavier meals and colder weather.
