An old vines white from the Douro, made mainly from Viosinho, this is a straw colored wine with a really nice bouquet, where some smoke and oaky notes combine with a expressive mineral side - it reminded me of chalk at some points. A bit to the background, some nice tropical fruit also makes its appearance.
Very structured in the mouth, unctuous and fully revealing its staging in oak, the mineral side keeps it interesting and lively. Quite dry and with some reminiscing tropical fruit, it finishes long and persistent.
Great balance in the mouth makes it a pretty interesting white for the winter and also a good buy at around 12€.
Fatter, baked fish will be ideal for this.
