Nose filled with ripe black fruits, sweet jam with a spicier background - black pepper, for instance.
In the mouth, there's still some oak to integrate into the set, although tannins are reasonably tamed. Full-bodied, fruit forward with some spices thrown in, it's probably a bit too intense. Finish is average leaving a sweet aftertaste mixed with spices.
I think it could become tiresome to drink with a meal since it seems to lack some balance, verging too much into a sweeter approach that would probably overpower whatever you pair it with.
Clearly, a new-world kind of wine. Maybe a couple of years more in the bottle would help it gain a different, more balanced stance.
