Dark ruby, the bouquet starts by showing some leathery notes, later replaced with flowers - violets and rockroses - and then some oak, chocolate and dark plums.
Quite some structure in the mouth, the first impression being of leather notes, again. Some vegetable and flowery notes also appear, very nicely integrated with the oak, tamed tannins and a still very marked acidity. The ending reveals a slight hint of evolution, a nice lengthy persistence that brings up again dark plums.
I think this is in an ideal drinking window, its six years in the bottle having granted it a very balanced feel.
