15.5 / 20 |
Region: Dão
Country: Portugal
This wine is produced and marketed by one of Dão Sul's winemakers, Carlos Lucas, as a side project.
Dark ruby, the bouquet centers around sweet red fruits, strawberries at first. Later on, a touch of flowers and other earthier notes appear in the background.
Fresh to the taste, showing a great acidity. Ripe red fruit notes mark the taste, although they do not become tiring to the palate. The balance is well kept throughout the taste, with subtle spice overtones in the medium length finish.
Overall, an honest, fruit-forward (but not too much) wine that's maybe a bit overpriced (at 9€).
