Region: Alentejo
Country: Portugal
A touriga nacional from Estremoz, in Alentejo, this exhibits the usual flowery notes in the nose, although very well balanced with some wild red berries and a touch of toast/coffee on the background. Not as exuberant as some Tourigas from the North of Portugal, but very pleasant and balanced.
Tasting it, one finds a medium bodied wine, well balanced and with a good acidity. It reveals a flowery character throughout the taste, finishing with an average length persistence. Pleasant and rounded, balanced tannins, I think some more structure would take it to the next level. But, definitely, a food-friendly wine that will go down well with several types of food.
