Region: Alentejo
Country: Portugal
A mid-range Alentejo from Global Wines, this wine has a nice ruby colour and a bouquet composed mainly by red sweet fruit. I think that on the background there was an animal scent that was a bit unpleasant but that faded away as the tasting proceeded.
To the taste, it is a standard Alentejo. Very smooth, balanced with the fruit nicely integrated with the wood in an average body. Finishes with a decent persistence. Overall, an honest mid-range Alentejo that would be a nice day to day wine.
I think there's still another bottle somewhere in the cellar. I'm mildly curious about it since I'd like to see if the animal aromas that I picked up here come up again. Maybe I'll have to edit this note later on.
