Region: Douro
Country: Portugal
Dark purple in colour, this Douro shows ripe plums in the nose, combined with violets and just a hint of spices in the background.
It's an elegant wine, combining some tamed but present tannins with the oak and a strong fruity presence. A good lengthy finish wraps up the taste. A good example of a fruity Douro.
Will do great with heavier, more seasoned dishes. A roast goat-kid or a stewed pheasant.
