Keeping up with the 2012 European city of Wine theme, here's another wine from Palmela - this time, the Reserva from Adega de Palmela.
A blend of Castelão, Syrah, Aragonês and Cabernet Sauvignon, this has a clear ruby color. The bouquet shows some interesting red fruits with a touch of jam and a spicy background.
To the taste, a medium-light wine, with just the right amount of red fruit to keep it lively and a slightly jammy feel. Good, round tannins that feel like they could use another year or two in the bottle.
The finish keeps the fruit, jammy notes in a decent, good length finale.
