Region: Douro
Country: Portugal
This specific wine has been rebranded to include the grape name - Códega do Larinho, a white grape from the Douro. Straw colored in the glass, this has a really nice bouquet, evoking flowers, orange blossom, lots of mineral notes strongly supported by a oak, buttery background.
The butter and vanilla notes are stronger in the palate, mingling with flowers and citrus in a full bodied taste with a good acidity, fresh enough to balance the weight of the oak. The taste finishes in a long, elegant, persistent fashion, dry enough to clean the palate and leaving in the aftertaste notes of citrus and spices.
A clear example of a really good white from the Douro.
