Region: Alentejo
Country: Portugal
From nearby Borba in Alentejo, this red wine is a good Alentejo, with all the usual points that make Alentejo reds so welcoming and likable.
Dark purple, the nose brings up lots of plums and berries, in a background of vanilla and some smoke.
Very fruit-forward in the palate, it managed to keep the taste interesting, balancing the strong plum notes with a fresh acidity and some marked, although balanced, tannins. Open and with lots of personality, this finishes long and leaves lots of ripe plum notes in the aftertaste.
A good Alentejo by any means, worth the experience.
