Region: Bucelas e Colares
Country: Portugal
A special edition wine, celebrating the hundredth anniversary of two wine regions in Portugal: Bucelas and Colares. Although they are not very well known, both regions offer some nice white wines. This one combines grapes from both Bucelas and Colares in order to make a distinct, different and very interesting wine.
The nose starts by offering tropical fruit and some flowery overtones and then changes to a more mineral approach, providing a peculiar and interesting bouquet.
Tasting it, the first impressions are of citrus and mineral, with a really crisp acidity. Very dry, and yet the finale shows some heavier, gliceric notes hinting at some evolution.
Brilliant persistence, with the mineral notes present throughout the taste. It is a very distinct and personalized wine. Certainly one to track down if you're looking for something a bit different.
