Impressive red coming from the Dão.
Starting with an amazing bouquet, where flowers (violets, I think) combine with pepper and vanilla, supported by a sweet (raisins) background. A complex, sophisticated nose where everything is in right proportions.
The taste keeps up with the high standards. Full-bodied, with an amazing acidity and still some very present tannins, it is very well structured and complex. The spices notes are more apparent than the fruit and the amazingly long finale presents the taster with some great cocoa notes.
Would probably grow for some more years in the bottle, but right now it is a really good wine and a great example from the Dão.
