Comenda Grande 2008

16.0 / 20
Producer: Monte da Comenda Grande
Region: Alentejo
Country: Portugal

From a producer near Arraiolos, in Alentejo, this red has a pretty dark ruby color.

Open and inviting in the nose, with lots of ripe red fruits on a background of vanilla and oak, this follows through in the palate showing a round and fruit forward body.

Average structure, with balanced velvety tannins and an equally balanced acidity, the wine has a good deal of red fruits that are nicely integrated with the oak. Average length ending that keeps the fruit notes coming, this is a good, honest Alentejo that is ready to drink.
